Home Office: One Room Challenge Week 2 – Paint goes on
Now that I created a mood board with a whole new direction I am ready for week 2 of the One Room Challenge and my home office is getting a new coat of paint. I was very excited for this part of the project because I would be using a paint sprayer for the very first time, and because I decided to change the color at the very last minute! Before I get into all of that let me walk you through my prep work. I know nobody claims this as their favorite part. AT ALL. I have to do it to ensure the results are the best possible.
- Clean out room
- Remove baseboards and window casing (only because I am replacing them)
- Patch up holes
- Wipe walls clean (I used a swiffer)
- Tape plastic around the window.
Now I was ready for painting or ready to pray paint, because let’s face it we pray it turns out great! It took me 15 minutes to read the manual ( Yes, I do that) and get my new Wagner Flexio 3000 ready.
What did I learn and accomplish?
- Diluting the paint is dependent on your paint sprayer. I watered my paint down as per the instructions on the paint can.
- Overspray is real but it was not too bad with this paint sprayer. I didn’t bother covering the floors or ceiling. I have plans for both
- I don’t see myself ever choosing paint roller over the sprayer. The set up for using a paint sprayer is necessary & extensive, but still worth it.
